Perhaps it’s too early to share a summary of a year, but what a year it’s been. We were on track for an absolute shocker. Without oversharing, three out of our four parents were either very unwell or had significant operations. Our house flooded and we spent six and a half months in a building site. One of those was without a fridge or cooker. We ate a lot of pre-cooked chicken and flaccid, anaemic wraps.

BUT (and touch wood, anything can happen in seven weeks), the health of our loved ones seems greatly improved, all the building work happened (thank you home insurance). And we had some very unexpected but incredible news: I’m pregnant again. A fresh Silvani will hopefully arrive at the end of spring.

2025 will also see the launch of my other baby: Baby Teeth is out in hardback on 6 February.
